Our History
South Sound Honda was founded by Ed Reiner as Reliable Jewelry & Loan in 1904. He moved to Aberdeen in 1920 and added Sporting Goods and Guns. Marvin Reiner took over the business in 1953 and changed the name to Reiner's Sporting Goods. He added Honda Motorcycles in 1962. Jeff Reiner took over in 1983 and changed the focus of the business towards Honda products while also altering the name to Reiner's Harbor Honda. Dale and Vicki Gray joined the business in the mid-nineties, and helped Jeff move the business to a new state of the art building in Olympia's Auto mall in mid 1996 and the business has since grown to be one of the Largest Honda Motorcycle Dealerships in the Northwest which is now in constant change to try and make our customers experience the best it can be.
We recently acquired Precision Honda in June of 2005 from Charlie Donnes, and changed the name to South Bound Honda, which is now considered our sister store. Precision Honda was originally founded over 37 years ago and Charlie held it for over 20 years until recently when he sold the store to us. We plan to keep the same customer excellence and satisfaction at South Bound Honda as we currently have at South Sound Honda. South Bound Honda can be found just off of I5 @ exit 125 (McCord AFB). New owners with a new attitude for Tacoma’s oldest Honda Dealership. With two of the oldest Honda dealerships in the Pacific Northwest, you can’t go wrong!
Our Parts Team
Our Parts Department is one of the most extensive in the area. The Parts Department has grown to support your need for timely and up-to-date information on parts and accessories. Tansy Moodenbough (left to right) started with us in Aberdeen in 1994 and made the move to Olympia with us. Craige Gronka (center left) is our shipping/receiving manager and is always sorting customers orders out. Mike Slusser (center right) rides a ST1100 and has been with this store for 9 years. Alan Schwen (right) is our Parts Manager and races an SV650.The whole team is always working hard to serve you.
Our Service Team
We are leaders in motorcycle and ATV maintenance and repair. In 2003, we built a completely new, state of the art service facility in the lower level of our building. We designed in features to help us take the best care of your motorcycle or atv. Our service team has over 50 years of experience. If you come and visit our service department you will without a doubt meet Curtis Duning our Service Manager and Dale Gray our Store partner and Doctor of motorcycles. Dale Gray has been a Service Technician since 1970 and has won many awards for his service commitment. Your ATV, dirt or street bike could be worked on by any one of our full time Service Technicians.
